About The Candlelighters Trust

Each year, over 150 children in Yorkshire are diagnosed with cancer.

Candlelighters is a Leeds-based charity dedicated to supporting families affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire.

Bailoran and friends raised over £11k for Leeds Baby Bank by running the Rob Burrows Leeds Half Marathon in 2024. None of the team are runners, it was a really hot day, and we certainly questioned our decision making around mile 9!
However, the atmosphere on the day was amazing and everybody finished the race… eventually! A huge thanks to all those who sponsored us, cheered us on, or tolerated our thrilling chats about running for months on end!

Bailoran and friends raised £2,649.00 for the Leeds Baby Bank by taking part in the Leeds Muddy 5k. It was wet, muddy and tiring, but we all secretly enjoyed the big inflatable slide into a mudbath at the end! A big thanks to all those who donated or cheered us on, and special mention to Drax colleagues for their contributions.
In June 2022 we offered our premises as a “Drop Off” point for donations.  This was a huge success thanks to the fabulous community of Chapel Allerton who all supported this event with a great Social Media drive.
Bailoran Solicitors and friends completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. It was one of the hottest days of the year and a punishing day but we managed to raise £10,000.00 towards this fantastic cause. A huge thanks to everybody involved, especially those who sponsored us.
Bailoran completed a 20 mile hike in The Yorkshire Dales raising over £3400 for St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds. St Gemma’s Hospice St Gemma’s have supported those close to members of our team including Mary Nelson, Steve Cordwell, Dr Kate Granger and the effervescent Ray Wan.
During the Coronavirus lockdown Bailoran took part in a virtual 10k for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. Unfortunately the “virtual” 10k still needed running, but we raised over £3,500 towards this great cause.
Andrew Blinkhorn, our intrepid Debt Recovery specialist took part in a skydive to raise funds!
The Bailoran Team dragged themselves around the Leeds 10k raising £1500.00! Thanks to all those who supported us and made such a difference.
Bailoran organised their own charity fundraising event alongside Premier Martial Arts Leeds to celebrate the 30th year of CHSF

30 different exercises for 30 continuous minutes! We instantly regretted organising this event about 30 seconds into the first exercise of press ups! Thankfully we raised over £1400.00 so it was all worth it in the end!

Bailoran took time out to help launch the new CHSF offices alongside the charity’s ambassador, the legendary cricket umpire and commentator Dickie Bird OBE.
Keith and Andrew dressed themselves up at Christmas to raise donations at Leeds Train Station
Bailoran had a fun filled morning at Roundhay Park at the It’s a Knockout charity fundraiser
